DEL-462 Feasibility Study of Enlarging Cannonsville Dam

DEP intends to enter into a Government to Government agreement with Delaware River Basin Commission for a study of the feasibility of enlarging the Cannonsville dam to increase reservoir capacity. The contract (DEL-462) is necessary to continue the work that is being conducted by the DEP and the parties to the 1954 US Supreme Court Decree (Decree Parties) that established the current program of flow management in the Delaware River Basin. The 2017 Flexible Flow Management Program (FFMP) tasked New York City and the rest of the Decree Parties to investigate new sources of storage or to optimize existing sources of storage in the Delaware River Basin. As part of Phase I of the DRBC Storage Study, enlargement of Cannonsville Reservoir was identified as one such potential project.
